Axial Reorganization Posted on December 4th

Part of the problem with Toronto’s waterfront is a lack of axial identity - there is no street clearly intended to deliver residents to the water’s edge. As part of the proposed West Donlands scheme, Cherry St becomes this missing link to the waterfront, at the junction of Lake Ontario; the Keating Channel; Commissioner’s Park; and newly-proposed parkland on the lakeshore. It becomes integral to an interconnected series of open-specific public spaces, and to the development of the current brownfield site on the West Donlands.
Part of the presentation of this project involved flipbooks, to recreate the act of traveling through different spaces of this proposal; these are reproduced digitally in the video below.
